They don't build 'em like they used to

Hard drive in my six-month-old Powerbook just died. Meanwhile the fifteen-year-old RZ26 in my VAXstation 3100 keeps on ticking. Yes, I know MTBF is a statistic and somebody's got to draw the short straw, but it's still really frakking annoying. Although at least it didn't happen three weeks from now, right before my trip to Berlin.
