Method of last resort
Sep. 27th, 2004 09:54 pmThose who have been in DC may have noticed that the Metrorail system was horribly lowballed. The trains stop working when the temperature drops below freezing, a half-story elevator takes a month to be repaired, and entrances collapse left and right. What we clearly need is intervention from Lord Vishwakarma:
India's disaster-prone train network may be the world's largest employer, but the country's railways minister says he believes the credit for a respite in accidents lies with the Hindu god of machines.Somehow, I don't think even He (or any other deity, for that matter) can do any good when faced with such a flaming turd of a heavy rail system. (from Gweilo Diaries)Laloo Prasad Yadav said the number of train accidents had declined since he installed a "bright new photo" of the god Vishwakarma in his New Delhi office.
