Bummer.

It turns out that Speakeasy doesn't have service in the CO for my new condo. So what do I do? My requirements are a static IP address, no prohibitions of servers in TOS, and at least 384k upload. I'll be using the servers bit for my email domain and some mod_perl and/or JSP/servlets (within next 2 mos, I hope). The options:
  1. Get DSL from Cyberonic; 1.5/384, one static address (no more available). $109/mo—it's expensive because it's through New Edge.
  2. Verizon DSL, which is 1.5/384 with one static for $80/mo, first three months free.
  3. Comcast cable modem $43/mo (with purchase of cable service) or Verizon dynamic DSL 1.5/384 $35/mo (with phone line), plus a server off somewhere. Could be virtual, could be dedicated, but needs to be one or the other. (Something like either RimuHosting's VPSen or 1and1's oh-so-cheap dedicated servers.)
#1 is out, unless Cyberonic happens to be the best ISP since sliced bread. If I can't have Speakeasy or 768k upload, I'm leaning more towards number three.

In the past two days, I received two written proposals for painting my condo—that I requested and met with estimators for two weeks ago. I'm not sure what good it does somebody to not send me an estimate until I've selected a contractor and they've completed 75% of the job.
