Mar. 13th, 2005 07:05 pmI'll be needing a new printer soon—my Personal Laserwriter 320 is no doubt on its last legs, and it's rather slow and low-resolution by today's standards. About the only good thing it has going for it is real Adobe® PostScript®; unfortunately, nothing south of $1000 has an actual Adobe-licensed engine these days—and HP has apparently abandoned them on just about everything they sell. But I can at least get something that will give me more paper capacity, better print quality, and duplex.
Macworld's review of the Brother HL-5710DNLT looked promising (although I may get the DN, which is the same but 250-sheet capacity, $50 less, and somewhat lighter), so I checked out Brother's web page. Their manuals for this printer include instructions on how to print to it from OS/400. I think I've found something that is as nifty as I can expect without forking over far more money than I'm willing to spend to Xanté.
