For tonight's home improvement project, I finally set up the
Soekris net4501 I recently purchased so that the hole I drilled in the case is the right size for the antenna connector. Yes, it's now properly screwed in instead of being secured with electrical tape. (Imagine that!) The picture shows my now-happy router/firewall in its new home. Above it are an HP 9000/712 (not in use), VAXstation 3100 (OpenVMS 7.4, turned off), and DEC 3000/600 AXP (NetBSD somethingorother, ditto); on its rack are a Netgear 16-port switch, loaner DSL modem (ZyXeL died), Dayna LocalTalk-Ethernet bridge, and Compaq PDU (converts the
L5-30R receptacle on the back of my UPS into twelve 15 A receptacles. Below, you can see my primary UPS (
APC SmartUPS 2000XL).
Now I just have to actually do something useful with said archaic computers.
